Essay “My School”: Tema svolto in Inglese sulla scuola per bambini di 8-9 anni

Quando sentiamo o leggiamo la parola essay, siamo abituati a pensare a universitari, professori, ricercatori. In realtà in inglese l’essay è un tipo di composizione argomentativa o descrittiva strutturata, che può essere affrontata da studenti di tutte le età. 

Proprio così! Anche un bambino delle elementari può cimentarsi nella scrittura di un breve saggio (o tema) anche in una lingua straniera come l’inglese.

Scrivendo, lo studente di inglese (di tutte le età!) non solo affinerà le sue writing skill, ma ripasserà il vocabolario e la grammatica appresi e imparerà a organizzare il pensiero e a esprimerlo in modo efficace. Il che serve sempre, nello studio come nel lavoro. L’importante è stimolare i bambini su argomenti per loro interessanti: My best friend, My Family.

Il tema My School è in questo senso un tema perfetto: è vicino all’esperienza dei bambini e  si presta a un obiettivo linguistico preciso: fare pratica sulle descrizioni di luoghi e ambienti, con la costruzione there is / there are, le preposizioni di luogo, gli aggettivi e gli avverbi usati per descrivere un luogo e le relazioni fra gli oggetti nello spazio.

Ecco le strutture e il lessico che tuo figlio o tua figlia potrà mettere in pratica scrivendo un essay in inglese sulla sua scuola:

• La costruzione there is (c’è) e there are (ci sono).
• Le preposizioni di luogo:
  • above – sopra, al di sopra
  • across – attraverso (ad esempio una strada)
  • along – lungo (ad esempio una strada)
  • among – tra
  • behind – dietro
  • below – sotto, sotto
  • beside – accanto
  • between – tra
  • beyond – oltre
  • by – accanto, presso
  • in – in
  • in front of – davanti a qualcosa
  • inside – dentro
  • into – dentro
  • near – vicino
  • next to – vicino a
  • on -su
  • outside – all’esterno
  • over – sopra
  • through – attraverso
  • towards – verso qualcosa
  • under – sotto

Hello! Today, I want to tell you about my school. It is a place where I go to learn and have fun with my friends. I really enjoy spending time at my school because it has many interesting places and things to do.

In my school, there are several classrooms where we have our lessons. Each classroom is bright and colorful. There are desks and chairs for the students, and a teacher’s desk at the front. There are also big windows that let in lots of sunlight. I like sitting near the window and looking outside during class.

There is a library in my school, and it’s one of my favorite places. It is a quiet and peaceful room filled with many books. There are shelves from floor to ceiling, and I can find all sorts of books there. The librarian is always there to help us find the books we want. I enjoy sitting on the cozy bean bags and reading interesting stories.

Outside, there is a big playground where we can play and have fun. There are swings, slides, and climbing frames. I love swinging high in the air and sliding down the slides. There is also a soccer field where we can play football. During recess, my friends and I run around, play games, and have a great time together.

There is a cafeteria in my school where we have our lunch. It is a big room with tables and chairs. There is a counter where we can choose our food. They have delicious meals like sandwiches, pasta, and fruit. I enjoy sitting with my friends, chatting and eating together.

Next to the school building, there is a beautiful garden. It has colorful flowers, tall trees, and a small pond. We learn about plants and how to take care of them in our gardening class. Sometimes, we even get to plant our own flowers and watch them grow. It is so nice to walk in the garden and enjoy the fresh air.

My school is a special place for me. It has classrooms where we learn new things, a library filled with exciting books, a playground where we have fun, a cafeteria where we eat, and a lovely garden to relax in. I feel lucky to have such a wonderful school with caring teachers and friends who make every day enjoyable. My school is like a second home, and I always look forward to going there to learn, play, and create lasting memories.
